Edward Blumstein, J.D., is an attorney who specializes in mediation and arbitration. His mediation centers on families, businesses and governmental agencies. His arbitration is primarily for the American Arbitration Association, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA, formerly National Association of Securities Dealers) and private parties.

Ed serves as chair of the board of the Council for Relationships, a preeminent non-profit counseling, education and research center. Founded in 1932 as the Marriage Council of Philadelphia, it is the oldest relationship counseling and training center in the country. Click here to learn more.

A family mediator since 1982 and a mediation trainer since 1994, Ed was instrumental in establishing a mediation program in Philadelphia Family Court. For 12 years he was an adjunct instructor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where he taught a clinical course in custody mediation.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a marketing degree from the Wharton School, Ed graduated from Temple Law. He has presented workshops at local and national conferences of mediators. He recently won the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s annual Sir Francis Bacon Dispute Resolution Award for a career in bringing mediation and other forms of dispute resolution to the commonwealth. He has presented professional papers at more than 20 organizations.
